Eligibility
Central Texas Fishing Guide is hosting a special tournament this year for Media Bass Austin Individual Division anglers that have acquired at least 500 Angler of the Year points (AOY) for the 2024 season. The tournament field is limited to only 20 participants. Anglers that have between 400 and 499 AOY points can be placed on a wait-list. See the Rule #4 in the rules section for details on the wait-listing requirements.
Lake ‘X’
The tournament will be held at a Central Texas region lake on Sunday, October 20, 2024 from safe-light to 3 pm. The tournament lake (Lake ‘X’) will be announced via group text at 7 am on Friday, October 18, 2024. It will also be posted to the Central Texas Fishing Guide’s Facebook page simultaneously to the group text.

Lake ‘X’ will be less than 2 hours from Austin, Cedar Park, Round Rock and Temple.
Lake ‘X’ will NOT be a lake that is currently on the 2024 trail for the Media Bass Austin Individual.
Entry Fee
$150 individual entry for anglers with 500 or more AOY points.
$50 wait-list fee plus $150 individual entry for anglers with 400 to 499 AOY points.
Payouts
Payouts are based on the full field of 20 participants.
First Place – $2,000 cash and the Tournament of Champions 1st Place trophy.
Big Bass – $750 cash and the Tournament of Champions Big Bass trophy.

Rules
1. These Rules apply to all participants in the Tournament of Champions. Violation of any of these rules will warrant appropriate disciplinary action by Tournament Director. Any protest must be received in writing and signed within fifteen minutes of final check-in deadline to be taken literally. Tournament Director reserves the right to refuse entry of any person. CENTRAL TEXAS FISHING GUIDE, LLC decisions will be final in all matters.
2. State, Federal, and Local Laws must be obeyed.
3. Individual Entry Fee is $150 for anglers that meet the 500 AOY point eligibility threshold or are in the waitlist.
4. Anglers that have between 400 and 499 AOY points can purchase a block of 100 AOY points for $50 and will be placed on a waitlist. Waitlisted anglers can be selected to participate in the Tournament of Champions so that the 15-participant field can be filled. Anglers that earned 500 or more AOY points will have priority registration over waitlisted anglers. Anglers that are waitlisted and not selected will receive a full refund for their $50 waitlist fee before 10/01/2024.
5. Firearms are allowed by CHL (Concealed Handgun License) holders and Law Enforcement Officers only.
6. Courtesy, Safe Boating, Sportsmanship and Conservation must be displayed at all times by contestants. A U.S. Coast Guard approved chest type PFD must be on and fastened anytime the combustion engine is in gear. All boats must meet U.S. Coast Guard standards. Jet-drive, air-cooled engines, or air-boats are not allowed. Outboard motors may not exceed boat manufacturers rating. All boats must have an emergency kill-switch and must be attached to the driver anytime the combustion engine is in gear.
7. All fishing must be done with artificial lures only. Pork is permitted. Only one rod and reel may be used at a time by contestants. No trolling with the combustion engine is allowed. All fish must be caught in a legal and sporting manner during tournament hours from tournament waters. Contestants may not use any communication or video device for the sole purpose of locating or catching bass during tournament hours. Tracking devices inserted in bass may not be used by any contestant during or before the tournament. Hole-Sitting by or for entrants is not allowed.
8. There is not an off-limits period of any kind for the Tournament of Champions.
9. Boats must have a permanently installed live well and an operating aeration system. Participants may keep no more than 5 bass in the live well except for a reasonable period to cull. There can be no culling of dead fish.
10. Scoring will be determined by the total weight of not more than 5 bass per participant. All black bass must be 14” in length. This includes Guadalupe, spotted, largemouth and smallmouth bass. Fish will be measured on a Pro-Rule measuring board with the tail closed.
11. No fishing is allowed within 25 yards of another tournament boat without mutual consent. No tube, bank, or wade fishing is allowed. Participants may not leave the boat to gain access to fishing waters or to land a fish. All fishing must be in waters accessible from the main body of water.
12. Trailering to and from the weigh-in during tournament hours is not allowed, unless permitted by the Tournament Director for safety or emergency reasons. All fishing must be from a previously inspected boat.
13. Tournament Hours and Check Points will be given at registration and are the responsibility of each entrant. Any boat ramp may be used however, all boats will take-off in a numbered order at first safe-light from the same designated marina or ramp area. Safe-light is typically 25 minutes before sunrise.
14. Penalties: There will be a 1/2 (.5) pound penalty deducted for each dead fish weighed-in. There will be a five (5) pound penalty deducted for any fish not meeting the predetermined size requirement brought to the scales, plus, a loss of same fish. Additional Penalties are considered for varying infractions. Contestants catch will not be counted, if not checked-in by the designated check-in time.
15. Upon entering this fishing tournament, contestants release CENTRAL TEXAS FISHING GUIDE, LLC officials and sponsors from liability of accidents, losses or thefts. Contestants are responsible for knowing and understanding these rules.
